Financial Advice for Women
Independent advice that sees you as an individual, at every stage of your life.
Why This Page Exists
Being a woman is not a financial situation in itself. You may be building a career, running a business, raising a family or planning for later life, and you are an individual first. This page exists for a simpler reason: the evidence shows the financial system has measurable blind spots that affect women more, and we think that is worth being honest about. Below is what the research shows, how we help, and where to go next.
The gender pension gap stands at around 32 per cent. The median private pension at retirement is about £173,000 for women against about £286,000 for men, a difference of roughly £113,000. (Scottish Widows Women and Retirement Report, 2025.*)
Career breaks are the main driver. A five-year break taken at 35 can reduce a final pension by around £69,000 through missed contributions and lost growth. (Scottish Widows, 2025.)
Women live longer on average, about 83 years against 79 for men, and a woman reaching 65 can expect a further 22 to 23 years. More women will therefore manage their money alone in later life. (Office for National Statistics, 2022 to 2024.**)

How we help
Whatever has brought you here, your plan can draw on the full range of our advice:
Our Approach
Plain language, always
We explain everything clearly and answer every question without judgement. Jargon is a barrier, and we do not use it.
We listen first
We take the time to understand your life and your goals before we recommend anything, and we bring ideas to you rather than waiting to be asked.
You, as an individual
Your plan is built around you, not around a couple or a template. You will always understand what you hold and why.
Questions Women Often Ask
You start with a conversation, and nothing more. Many of our clients had never seen an adviser before they came to us. We explain everything in plain language and only suggest a next step when you are ready.
Time out of work is common and does not mean you are behind. There are practical ways to rebuild pension savings after a break, and we help you understand exactly where you stand and what is possible.
A divorce affects pensions, property, protection and your will. We help you understand your position and plan for your own financial future, and we can work alongside your solicitor.
Yes. Tell us when you get in touch and we will do our best to match you with an adviser you feel comfortable with. (Keep this answer only if it can genuinely be honoured.)
